I remember when I just started working in the finance world, everyone had to have a high end watch for meetings and whatnot.
The usual suspects were of course Rolex (submariners), Pateks (Nautilus), APs (royal oak) and the list goes on.
To pay nearly usd 20 grand for an entry level watch is a testament to the remarkable marketing efforts of the watch industry.
Like my peers at the beginning I owned a few watches as such. However as time went on I learnt and researched on what makes a watch good value. The shell of a watch is rarely complicated. It's the movements that matter.
Nomos is a brand which makes their own in house movements as good as any entry level luxury watch and at 1/5 the price. It's not very well known amongst the public, but tremendous value for money at 3-5k usd a watch. I particularly also love the design of their Ahoi series in nautical blue and their new Tagente Sport Neomatik.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, go do some research and read more about the brand :)
