칼국수 (Kalguksu) is a type of Korean dish consisting of handmade, knife-cut wheat flour noodles served in a large bowl with broth and other ingredients. Its name comes from the fact that the noodles are not extruded or spun, but cut! I visited a restaurant called 명동교자 (Myeongdong Kyoja) on my second visit to Korea last year. They are famously known for their Kalguksu. I remember that the broth tasted really good and the noodles were really chewy. Their Kimchi is so fresh and good and it's a whole other world compared to the cheap, disgusting ones you buy from NTUC or foodcourts selling Korean food. But then again, this is Korea we're talking about LOL. Anyways, this place is a definite must-visit restaurant for anyone who plans to visit Korea. It's located in Myeongdong which is a popular tourist spot. Just google the name of the restaurant for the address :)
