That famous tag line: 买东西 吃东西 买东西 吃东西! One of the OG food paradise ever, except... the cost of living is actually pretty steep in HK.
Tai Cheong, Lord Stow’s Portuguese egg tarts, Mobile Softee, lots and lots and lots of dimsum. Though often compared to Singapore because of the similarities, it’s not difficult to notice the vast difference in living conditions. The population, the crowd, the shoebox apartments, road repairs, building supports etc. I can’t think of a single time I was in Hong Kong and was not annoyed by the impenetrable crowd. Always add 20 mins or so to your estimated journey time to buffer. You’ve been warned, the people generally ain’t the kindest lot.
